I have chased down both watches AND owners of watches and it one of the most rewarding aspects of this hobby! Well done! And Super Oceanographer!

Hey Mike. Thanks for this article. I purchased one of these on eBay a few years ago — mine is a little less "well travelled". The seller claimed 1960's origin but he was very eager to sell it and I liked its homage status as frankly it was in my budget and well, I had a feeling technically less common. Occassionally, people mistake it for a subbie if they're non-watch people who know think they know Rolex and nothing else (my Dad). Of course when he saw Bulova he wes less interested in my... his weird son. But that's another story. Anyway... thanks

Thanks for reading and for your comment! We’re all weird here in the watch space and we love seeing a good old Bulova out and about - plus, last I counted, I’ve only ever seen one Oceanographer in the wild, compared to thousands of Subs. I think you’re doing just fine ☺️
